A relaxed coastal landscape designed for connection, family, and slow outdoor living.
This redesign focused on creating a welcoming space for gathering, with a balance of structure and softness.

Natural textures, warm tones, and native planting form a gentle backdrop for everyday moments outdoors.

The Brief

The vision for this project was to transform a coastal backyard into a family-friendly oasis for relaxation and entertaining.
The design called for a swimming pool, alfresco cooking area, and generous lawn space for family games and conversation around a firepit.

With the property’s location near the coast, hardy native plants were selected to suit the local conditions and create a sense of effortless, lasting beauty.

The Process

The design evolved through several stages — from concept development and spatial planning to the detailed coordination of materials, surfaces, and planting.

Careful attention was given to orientation, access, and flow between zones to ensure every area of the garden felt welcoming and cohesive.
Each decision was made to evoke calm, comfort, and a sense of connection with the surrounding landscape.
