A light-filled heritage home reimagined for modern family life. This project transformed a heritage-listed Victorian terrace to better serve a young family’s daily life.
The Brief
The redesign introduced an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, bringing light into the heart of the home while preserving key original features. Sustainable materials and locally made furniture were chosen to celebrate the home’s history and context.
The Vision
The palette was inspired by the quiet strength of the home’s original architecture — soft sage greens, warm timbers, and gentle neutrals complement the existing heritage detailing. Textural materials such as linen, oak, and handmade ceramics bring warmth and tactility, creating a calm family space that balances character with comfort.
The Process
Reworking the floor plan allowed for improved flow between living areas and introduced a new study nook, two bathrooms, and generous storage throughout. Spatial planning was approached with restraint — ensuring the historic proportions were respected while adapting to modern needs.
The Deliverables
Deliverables included a Floorplan Design, Colour Palette, Moodboards, an Fixtures, Finishes & Equipment Schedule (F, F & E), Kitchen Design, Elevations, Lighting Plan and 3D Modelling
Designer's Note
